Under 11 team news

After much searching and advertising we have had to admit that we will not be able to field an Under 11 team in any competitions this season.

We have exhausted all means to try and raise a team but after only getting interest from 3 players it is time to end the search.

We are sorry to all parties that will have to change fixtures and league and cup draws.  Please accept our apologies and we will try again to raise an Under 12 team for next season.

U8s - Match Report (26/9/09 - Tynemouth Blues)

The U8s played their second competitive 'friendly' league game at KYPC against Tynemouth Blues U8s on Saturday 26th September 2009. The team were looking to build upon their opening day 3-0 win last weekend.

Once again Cullercoats came flying out of the blocks and forced most of the first half play into the Tynemouth half. Matty Sharp (central midfield), was captain for the game and opened the scoring with an excellent right foot drive across the box, which beat the outstretched keeper.

Cullercoats created a number of goalscoring chances, but could not add the second before half time. The Tynemouth defence must take credit for that, with their defence being in excellent form.

At the other end Jack Stronach and Ryan Norris (defence) cleared up any danger and Daniel Henderson (keeper) made a couple of excellent saves to maintain his unbeaten record.

The second half started in similar fashion, with Connor Sherriff (striker) causing problems for the Tynemouth defence. On two occasions he broke through down the right and struck the post with excellent shots.

The second goal came mid way through the second half when Ben Hall (midfield) sent in an excellent left wing corner which Matty Sharp pounced on to claim his second goal.

Ethan Ayre (midfield) and Bayley Whenray (substitute striker) also played their part in an excellent game, which finished 2-0 to Cullercoats. Once again the game was played in good spirit and well refereed.

Matty Sharp was awarded 'man of the match' by the coaches, but it was a close call with several excellent performances, including another clean sheet for Daniel Henderson and an eye-catching performance by Connor Sherriff up front.

Under 8s Match Report

The U8s played their first competitive 'friendly' league game at KYPC against Burradon U8s on Saturday 19th September 2009. The team had only been together for 48 hours, so they faced a big challenge !

Cullercoats started strongly and forced most of the first half play into the opposition half. Matty Sharp (central midfield) opened the scoring with a long shot from the left side of the pitch, which evaded two defenders and the outstretched keeper.

The second goal came from Connor Sherriff (striker), who hit a stunning strike from a similar position, which the keeper could not reach.

In defence, Jack Stronach was immaculate and swept up everything at the back, with Ryan Norris (defender) and Daniel Henderson (keeper), who was excellent throughout the game.

The third goal came in the second half with Connor Sherriff grabbing his second goal of the game. He also smashed a long range effort against the bar and went close with the headed follow-up. The game finished 3-0 to Cullercoats.

The other players, Ethan Ayre (midfield), Ben Hall (midfield) and Bayley Whenray (substitute striker) all played their part in an excellent opening game.

Burradon also played their part with some excellent running, in a game played in good spirit throughout.

Jack Stronach was awarded 'man of the match' by the coaches from both teams, for his faultless performance at the back.
