Cullercoats came flying out of the blocks, as they have done in most games this season, with Connor Sherriff (striker) scoring the first goal inside 5 mins. His shot from outside the box on the right was an instinctive reaction as the ball was cleared by the defender. It flew into the net, as the pace surprised the keeper.
Matty Sharp (central midfield) added the second, with a powerful drive from outside the box, as Cullercoats dominated midfield.
Wallsend pulled a goal back when their striker was left unmarked inside the box. The finish was excellent, as the player struck his shot in off the the post beyond the outstretched Daniel Henderson (keeper), who was captain for the game.
Daniel Henderson, with Jack Stronach and Daniel Brewis (defence) were very solid at the back and prevented any further opportunities for the opposition.
Cullercoats responded by continuing to control the play through the middle. Benjamin Hall and Ethan Ayre (midfield) were full of running and created space and opportunities
throughout the first half. Finan Peach (substitute midfielder) also slotted in well on the right and made several good passes to create space.
The third goal came when Connor Sheriff was fouled inside the box. Matty Sharp converted the penalty with a super strike into the top of the net.
Cullercoats continued to press and Benjamin Hall broke free beside the right corner flag. He ran towards the box and hit an excellent left foot shot into the corner of the goal to put his team 4-1 up at the break.
The second half continued in the same way, with Cullercoats dominating the midfield battle, whilst being solid at the back.
Benjamin Hall scored the fifth goal (his second) direct from a right wing corner, as the ball evaded the defence and keeper.
Cullercoats maintained the pressure and Matty Sharp hit an unstoppable shot from outside the box on the left, which flew over the outstretched keeper for his hat-trick. The game ended 6-1 to Cullercoats.
Matty Sharp was awarded 'man of the match' for his efforts in midfield, coupled with an excellent hat-trick and the captain, Daniel Henderson, took away the birthday wishes !!
