Match Report - Cullercoats 2  Cramlington United 5

The Under 11s began life as an 11aside team with an opening day defeat at the hands of Cramlington United.   The First half was nip and tuck with both sides creating chances but failing to break the stalemate early on.  Cullercoats forced a corner just before the half time whistle but were caught on the break as the faster running cramlington forwards surged forward and overwhelmed the cullercoats defence to go into the interval 1-0 ahead.   This had a major effect on Cullercoats who went to pieces during a ten minute spell early in the second half and found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline as time and again they failed to clear their lines.  Last seasons top scored Luke Monaghan opened his account for the season with a well taken finish to pull one back but Cramlington Soon restored their four goal advantage as they again outpaced the cullercoats defence.  Cullercoats restored some respect to the scoreline when Joe Logan collected an excellent pass from midfielder Aaron Dixon and whipped in a fine cross which was finished by Charlie James.
Cullercoats are still an inexperienced team with 5 new signings this year but need to learn fast and build up speed and fitness in particular if they are to have any success this season.

MOM Oliver Young (skipper was commanding in defence until his early departure through injury)
