Match Report - PONTELAND UNITED (BARCA) 1  -  CULLERCOATS 4

Cullercoats made it 2 wins from 3 league games with a hard earned win away at Ponteland.   The visitors started the game in slow motion but managed to go into the interval 1-0 ahead thanks to a fine strike from Charlie James which found the top corner.   Cullercoats soon found another gear in the second half and went further ahead with Louis Ross scoring his first goal for the club when he somehow managed to force the ball home despite lying on the floor after a goalmouth scramble.   Top scorer Luke Monaghan soon added a third to put the result beyond doubt but Ponteland continued to press forward and cause problems for the cullercoats defence who thanked the safe hands of keeper Tony Blacklock on many occassions.  Davids shipleys substition in the culleroats defence left a gap that was exploited by Pontelands right winger who found the net with a fine finish.   Monaghans second goal of the game after a good interchange with Josh Irwin settled the away teams nerves but Ponteland can think themselves unlucky to be on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline
