CULLERCOATS 1 PRUDHOE REDS 3
The under 11s failed to do the double over 2nd placed Prudhoe who deserved to edge a hard fought encounter on this occassion. After a 4-3 victory away at Prudhoe earlier in the season cullercoats again anticipated a hard fought encounter and gave a good account of themselves early on without making a breakthrough. Prudhoe began to dominate posession towards the middle of the first half but found Cullercoats defence to be in fine form as the teams went into half time 0-0. Another corner early in the second half finally put Prudhoe ahead when a fine delivery could only be helped on by Cullercoats captain Oliver young and his attempted clearance fell to a reds striker who dispatched an easy finish past Tony Blacklock. Young soon had Cullercoats level with a set peice of his own when his 25 yard free kick sailed over the helpless Prudhoe keeper. Cullercoats then gave away a cheap free kick when the previously faultless Reece Ackinclose handled outside his the area and a fine strike from the resulting freekick could only be parried by Tony Blacklock before a reds striker was the first to react and beat Ackinclose on the line. A disappointing 3rd goal from Cullercoats point of view then followed when they failed to challenge for a loose ball and were punished in clinical fashion to make the final score 3-1 to the reds.
